Devod

Devod is a dave-sona made by AUI. He's the foil to Mercallo and is his best friend. Much unlike Mercallo, however, Devod is intended to be taken seriously, and not to be taken as a joke. His idle (for the time being) is drawn by AUI and animated by his former co-owner, Evdo.
Appearance
Devod bares many similarities to Dave, being a somewhat tall young adult with white skin, save for the obvious fact that he doesn't have a wheelchair, and his shirt is white. Beyond that, he has brown shoes and light blue pants.
His eyes also appear to be completely white ovals with no pupils. His mouth also goes out of his head, wow! (This is solely for art-style purposes and isn't completely canon.)
Personality
Devod is essentially your average nice guy, often trying his best to help other people out when they need it. To contrast, he has a passive-aggressive personality, meaning when offended, he will usually get upset or stand for himself. When this happens, he will also start getting verbally aggressive much of the time, complaining about whatever is pissing him off and indirectly insulting people in the process.
Despite his previously mentioned willingness to stand up for himself, he is weak and easy to scare. Fortunately for Devod, he has a fairly good temper, being able to calm himself down easily, making reasonable communication simple.
He tries to use logic and smarts to get himself out of dire situations, though this produces mixed results, due to the extremely odd and bizarre events that happen where he lives (Mainland).
This means he will try to go for more confusing ideas, which always end poorly. Ironically, these situations are still solved in often stupid and comical ways, which irritates Devod greatly. These solutions are often so convoluted that it makes even the most ridiculous concepts sound simple in comparison. How fun!
His relationship with Mercallo is also pretty messed up, often having to be the voice of reason when Mercallo wants to cause destruction. However, despite his disliking for Mercallo's antics, he and Mercallo are very close, going as far as to emotionally depend on each other.
Trivia
- His scrapped idle was made by Emba, meanwhile the current and old ones are made by his creator, AUI.
- This scrapped idle was originally used for a mod called "D&B: Ultimate Metaverse" which is now cancelled forever due to Xenolite's (concerningly long) drama, which as of now has been resolved.
- Devod (along with Mercallo) accidentally gained immense amounts of power.
- Devod can't turn 3D willingly.
- He has a crimson form however, though this is not something he can control.
- Devod speaks with a British accent.
- Devod will rarely hold a grudge towards people. There are rare moments where he will show hatred towards someone.
- Devod loves the Roblox game DOORS.
- Devod was intended to be gay at some point, though AUI dropped the idea due to finding it pointless. (Not to mention his best friend is a literal homophobic psychopath.)
- Mercallo taught Devod about expletives.
- However, he has never said one.
- If Mercallo and Devod never met, Devod would most likely be dead.
- Devod has an ever expanding list of fears and phobias.
- Devod plans on remaining single.
- Devod lacks knowledge on how to use most weapons, and lacks the ability to fight. Despite this, there are moments where he has gotten physically violent. (Though this is mostly slamming objects against things and people.)
- Devod has never killed someone. (Though realistically speaking, most people haven't.)
- This is not true anymore, character development!
- Devod is neutral to the idea of LGTBQ+.
- Devod (along with Mercallo, again) learned how to make portals some time ago.
- This is the only power of his he can use correctly.
- Devod is a foil to Mercallo.
- Devod's birthdate was on 03/30/2002.
- Devod was intended to have a completely different personality, where he was energetic and a bit of a jerk. This was scrapped because AUI thought it would be more funny to make him contrast with Mercallo in almost every way possible.
- Devod originally hated NFTs.
- This fact was retconned shortly after.
- There was a chance Devod would have a girlfriend, but the idea was dropped, because AUI thought it would make him look too perfect.
- Evdo originally wanted to make a remaster for him, AUI told him to not do that since his idle was "so far his best work in Scratch".
- However, the idle was scrapped shortly after.
- Devod's name comes from David.
- Devod's old sprites were supposed to be completely made on Adobe Flash, though AUI had lost the project, thus going over to Paint 3D to make his sprites. These turned out blurry and low quality, so he just opted to make them on Scratch.
- These sprites are being completely remade.
- Devod was supposed to be a retro-styled Davesona. This is one of the many ideas that got scrapped.
- However AUI kept the Pico's School stylized eyes since they looked cool and unique.
- Devod used a lot of Dave images as reference when deciding his appearance.
- Devod's favorite colors are: White, pink, black and blue.
- Devod is REALLY bad at Interminable Rooms.
- Devod's hair style is based on Dave's alpha icons.
- If Devod was an Object Show character, his O.M.G. phrase would be "Oh my Cube!"
- This is a reference to nothing in particular.
- He actually says this quite often.
- Devod's tongue is white, this is because he never changed his tongue color to a more pink-ish one.
- Devod has very good hearing. However, it is also sensitive.
- He owns a Lightbulb Plush.
- Devod's name is pronounced "Dee-vod".
- Devod doesn't fear turning 3D at all, actually preferring it over being 2D.
- Devod is not hostile when being in his Crimson Form, however it causes him a massive headache that alters his behavior somewhat.
- However when being the Crimson variant of his Origin Form, his personality changes to a more aggressive nature, being able to even kill people. Devod knows about this and actively tries to avoid it when in contact with the Red Tunnel.
- Devod likes reading books in his free time.
- Devod had parents back when he was first "born", though both parents died for unknown reasons.
- Devod once killed a literal apocalyptic monster all by himself.
- This is a really long story, you wouldn't understand it!
- Devod owns a car, an helicopter and a truck.
- Devod built his own house all by himself.
- Devod has a camera which he uses to record "daily blog diaries".
- Devod is a big fan of Panbi's singing.
- Devod absolutely despises Cryptids and Demigods.
